Substitute Teachers Needed

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED

The New Jersey Department of Education has recently created an additional pathway for interested individuals to obtain a Substitute Credential/Certificate.  This is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to earn extra income during the school year, while serving the students of our community.  If you are interested, please contact Nancy Gibbins via ngibbins@wtsd.org for additional information. 

 

Pathway 1  -- Substitute Teacher Credential (Per N.J.A.C. 6A:9B-7.3):

• Completion of 60 semester-hour credits; 

• Credits must be completed at an accredited college or university at the time of application; and 

• Credential is valid for five (5) years from the date of issuance.

Pathway 2 -- Substitute Teacher Credential (Per P.L. 2021, c.87):

• Completion of 30 semester-hour credits; 

• Credits must be completed at an accredited institution of higher education at the time of application; 

• Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education at the time of application;

• Applicant must be at least 20 years of age; 

• Credential pathway is available until June 30, 2023; and 

• Credential is valid for five (5) years from the date of issuance.
